Dear visitor,

At last some news from me; yes, never say never again. But I am back from Cambodia where I taught at one of the best Unis in Phnom Penh for about 9 months.

I came back with a determination to pick up the thread I left in Loja Ecuador in 2009.

I took a sabbatical of nearly 21 months. I questioned each and everytime if it was worth to contribute to the millions of images  spawned on this earth by so many artists and people on the net.
I realised when in trance that I had everything in my head already and I didn't feel the need to paint it anymore.

But blood crawls where it cannot walk, in so much that I could not stop creating (videos and digital stills) on my laptop when I had some energy left after teaching.

But the biggest change came in the form of a catharsis when my father died in November from a terminal disease. That same week of the 21 to the 25th 350 Cambodians were stampeded to death on a bridge with the mystical name of Diamond Bridge. They died suffocating, electrocuted on a beautiful bridge and the people in Phom Penh and beyond were afraid they would not pass over to the afterworld if they hadn't been helped by prayers from the monks.

I was rushed into a stream of imagery which nearly commanded me to paint about these crucial events in my life, there in Asia.

Paint program was my only tool in my small hotel room where I lived.

Now in England with new energy, I decided to make big canvases full of that spirit world which I had been drawn into in Bolivia, from 2005 onwards until now. Peru and Ecuador.

I get often visitations and have developed into a medium speaking different tongues when in trance, whether in Uk, Asia or South America, the spirits will never leave me anymore.

Art has come back as the microbe that had caught me at the age of 3.

I will soon show you some of my digital ideas and hopefully the big works too.

Hasta la vista!

Alann
